The Cap Corse Historique

The former European Rally Championship stage and now legendary Round of Giraglia has historically been the rally season opener. The first edition took place in april 1970, and over time the race has shaped its legend thanks to the sheer beauty and difficulty of its special stages, the climax of which being the famous bridge of Luri’s pass.

Sixteen years after bringing the Tour de Corse back to its former glory, José Andreani set himself a new challenge by applying the same successful recipe to the Cap Corse Historique.

On the agenda : a three-day race at the beginning of March, with more than 140 miles divided into 11 special stages and more than 150 miles of untimed transport stages.

The Cap is the wildest and most preserved region of Corsica, and islanders themselves call it « L’isula in de l’isula » (The island inside the island). Once they have raced the Cap Corse Historique, it takes no time to the competitors to understand the deep meaning of these words.

In a two-day period, the competitors will take the mythical route four times, which will give them as many chances to explore the road and increase their pace !

The Cap Corse Historique is a very intense as well as beautiful rally. When one has experienced it once, he craves for coming back.

Schedule : 3 days/2 trials (~125 miles/day)
2 categories : VHC and VHRS, for cars between 1947 and 1989
Price : 980€
150 competitors max
